Vet reference (AI): if a clinic turns it on, questions its staff type into Vet reference are sent to Perplexity AI, Inc. (United States) to find an answer from veterinary sources. No client or pet records are sent, and phone numbers, email addresses, NRIC/FIN and microchip numbers typed into a question are removed before it is sent. Perplexity does not use what we send to train its models.
Clinic assistant (AI): if a clinic turns it on, answering its staff's questions about the clinic's records sends limited information (names of clients and pets, appointment times, vaccination due dates, stock levels and amounts owed or paid) to Anthropic, PBC (United States), which may process it outside Singapore. Phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, microchip numbers and medical notes are not sent. Anthropic does not use this information to train its models, and deletes it within 30 days at most, except where the law requires otherwise or its automated safety systems flag a request (then it may keep it for up to 2 years), under its commercial terms. Clinics that turn the assistant on agree to tell their clients.
